Abstract
1,143,912. Transformers; inductors. MULLARD Ltd. 4 Jan., 1968, No. 678/68. Heading H1T. In a ferrite core assembly comprising two core parts, as 11, 12 (Fig. 4) clamped together between a base-plate 14 and a pressure plate 15 by spring clips 13, the pressure plate is formed of a material (e.g. rust-proofed mild steel) having a coefficient of linear expansion approximately the same as that of the ferrite core material. In a pot-core assembly an air gap, as shown, may be provided between the end faces of the hollow central core pillars, and a slug of magnetic material may be adjustably located in the space 17 to adjust the effect of the air gap on the inductance. Longitudinal slots in the walls of the core permit the ends of the windings to be passed out to terminal pins 21 mounted on an insulating base-plate. The base-plate may be similar to the pressure plate. The core may be earthed.
