A pair of legs 12 of a table are secured to the underside of the top 10 by screws passed through holes 26 in a cross member 24 of the leg structure and through two holes 16 in the top 10, to engage T nuts (30) embedded in the top 10, the spacing of one hole 16 from an edge, the spacing between the two holes and the spacing of the second hole 16 from the opposite edge being in the ratio of 1 : 2 : 1.
