Abstract
1,142,560. Chromium complexes of monoazo dyes. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 5 Dec., 1967 [8 Dec., 1966], No. 55301/67. Heading C4P. The invention comprises chromium complexes of monoazo dyes of formula wherein R 1 is H, CH 3 or SO 3 H and R 2 is H or SO 3 H. The dyes are prepared by coupling diazotized 4 - amino - 4<SP>1 </SP>- nitro - diphenylamine. 2<SP>1</SP>-sulphonic acid with salicylic acid or a derivative thereof and treating the coupling mixture with a chroming agent. The dyes give brown shades on wool, silk and leather.
