Abstract

1,142,433. Guide washers. HILTI A.G. 18 Jan., 1967 [21 Jan., 1966], No. 2554/67. Heading F2H. A shanked fastener 6 which is usually driven into hard receiving material by a driving tool 7 is provided on the shank with a guide disc or washer 1 having a central hole which fits the shank and one or more corrugations 3 extending outwardly from the central hole to the periphery of the disc or washer whereby flattening of the washer tends to increase the size of the hole and thereby facilitates removal of the washer, from the fastener shank when it is in position in the recieving material. The washer may have four corrugations at right angles or may have just one corrugation diametrically opposite to which is a slot so that the washer may be slid from the shank instead of passing over the head of the fastener as in the former.
