Abstract

1,141,983. Joint-making-packing; pipe Joints. TURNERS ASBESTOS CEMENT CO., Ltd. 19 Jan., 1967 [7 Feb., 1966], No. 5302/66. Headings F2B and F2G. A sealing ring between a pipe 1 and sleeve 3 is formed with a recess 9 between outer and inner lips 10, 11 and a concave inner surface 19, the ring being held in a recess which is provided with a stepped portion 5 for accommodating the inner lip when the pipe is pushed into its final position, Fig. 3 (not shown). The ring is preferably made of rubber and may be used to join pipes of asbestos-cement, plastic, metal or concrete.
