Abstract

1,140,825. Soldering. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 1 Sept., 1967 [6 Sept., 1966], No. 40032/67. Heading B3R. [Also in Division H2] Each end portion of connection wires 7, 17 of components 5, 15 is bent twice in opposite senses at 7a, 7b, the bent wires lying in planes perpendicular to a straight line joining the free ends of the wires, and is inserted substantially entirely into apertures 9 in a printed circuit board 1 by tilting each component twice in opposite directions about an axis substantially parallel to the said straight line. The apertures 9 may have conical widening at their ends to facilitate insertion. The wires are subsequently connected to printed wiring 3 on board 1, as by dip-soldering.
