Abstract

1,140,585. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. MOOG Inc. Jan.18, 1966, No.35193/68. Divided out of 1,140,582. Heading G3P. A servomechanism comprises a valve IC controlling an actuator 217 in response to electrical signals fed to a solenoid 218. The solenoid actuates a flapper 221 controlling the leak from nozzles 219, 220 to provide a pressure differential on end faces 246, 246<SP>1</SP> of a spool valve 228. The spool valve controls the flow of fluid to and from chambers 260, 261 of actuator 217 and a positional feedback is provided between the actuator and solenoid by a potentiometer 270. Positive and negative pressure feedbacks are also provided in respect of the load pressures in chambers 260, 261. The negative pressure feedback acts on the spool valve 228 by the connection of the actuator supply passages through passage 266, 268 to chambers 255, 255<SP>1</SP>. The positive pressure feedback is provided by the connection of the chambers 260, 261 through restrictions 290, 289 to chambers 282, 281. The pressure in these chambers acts on a spring centred piston 273 connected to the potentiometer 270. The restrictions and piston provide a low pass filter. In a modification, the valve IC is a three stage valve. The Specification also describes other methods of action of the pressure feedbacks which are described and claimed in Specifications 1,140, 582, 1,140, 583 and 1,140, 584.
