Delivery, stopping; roller heads. - T h e thread passes through the guide o between gripping-jaws d<2>, d<3>, between the rollers A A', B, B', over the detector k<2> to the flyer C. The gripping-jaw d<3> is fixed and the jaw d<2> is carried by a rod d' controlled by a spring d<4>. The detector k<2> is pivoted in a bracket h carried by the roller brackets f. The end k<1> of the lever k is connected to a rod w having at its upper end transverse pins m<1>. The presser roller A<1> is mounted in weighted brackets b pivoted on knife edges c, and normally an extension b<3> on the bracket b engages a catch d' on the movable gripping-jaw d<2> and holds the jaws apart, When a thread breaks, the detector k<2> rises, the rod m falls carrying the pins m<1> between the rollers A, A<1>. The rotation of the rollers carries the pins further between them and they are thereby forced apart and the projection b<3> removed from the catch d<7>. The gripping-jaw d<2> is released and the thread held between the grooved and ridged jaws d<2>, d<3>. The lever k carrying the detector k<2> is controlled by a spring n so that the detector may spring forward into the full-line position on breakage of the thread or be forced back into the dottedline position to facilitate the repairing of the broken thread. To allow the gripping-jaws to be operated irrespective of the breaking of the thread, a handle b<6> is provided on the bracket b. A finger-piece s is provided on the movable jaw d<2> The catch b<3> may be on a pivoted part not integral with the bracket b, but controlled by the movement of the bracket.
