Abstract

1,139,490. Endless conveyers. GOUGH ECON Ltd. 27 Dec., 1967 [12 Nov., 1966], No. 50833/66. Heading B8A. Buckets 4 are wedge-shaped in plan view and are attached to an endless chain such that round the inside of a horizontal curve of predetermined radius the buckets will have their adjacent sides in abutment and continuous filling from a shoot 61 can take plaec without excessive spillage. A biplanar chain 5 includes rollers 11 which engage angle sections 7 spaced by joint plates 3 to form a cruciform passage. Bushes 12 of the chain each carry a spindle 20 for supporting at one end a bucket and at the other end a sprocket 14. One side of the bucket has a lip 15 which overlaps the adjacent edge of the next bucket at a filling station 1. Discharge of a bucket occurs at stations 17, these being provided with rack members pivotable into engagement with the sprocket 14. The sprocket is thus rotatable for the bucket to be tipped. The chain is driven by a sprocket or by an endless toothed band. In a modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), a drive sprocket (21) is at a filling station, clearance for the buckets being provided by pillars (22) secured to appropriate pairs of chain links.
