Abstract
1,139,454. Delivering measured quantities of granular material. CONSORZIO AGRARIO PROVINCIALE DI FERRARA SOC. COOPERATIVE A.R.L. 22 March, 1967 [26 March, 1966], No. 13553/67. Heading B8N. A machine for dispensing measured quantities of granular material such as grain, sand or gravel, comprises a measuring tank 35 having an inlet at the top and an outlet at the bottom each controlled by oscillating plate valves, a screw conveyer 31 for conveying the material from a hopper 1 to a chamber 32 above the inlet and a means 6 for receiving the material delivered from the outlet. In operation, with the outlet valve closed and the inlet valve opened, material is fed by the conveyer 31 into the chamber 32 so that the material falls through a duct 34 into the tank. After the tank has completely filled the material continues to rise until it operates a controller 8 in the chamber 32 and thereby reverses the position of the valves. As shown a pair of tanks is provided so that as one fills the other empties; more than two tanks may be provided. A flap valve 53 may be provided for directing the flow of material through a duct 52.
