Abstract

1,139,436. Cellular compositions. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 20 July, 1967 [8 Aug., 1966], No. 35413/66. Headings C3C, C3P and C3Q. Cellular compositions are prepared by blending dinitrosopentamethylenetetramine, an amide of an inorganic or organic acid or an ammonium salt of an inorganic or an aromatic organic acid, polybasic organic acid, cycloaliphatic acid or aliphatic monovalent acid of molecular weight less than 80, and a natural or synthetic rubber, polyolefin or polyvinyl chloride, and heating the mixture to generate nitrogen. The term polyvinyl chloride includes copolymers of vinyl chloride and blends of the homo- or copolymer with other polymers. In the examples are used polyethylene, natural rubber and a butadiene/styrene copolymer; ammonium succinate, ammonium oxalate, glutaramide, oxamide malonamide, ammonium formate and ammonium chloride; a peptizer, zinc oxide, stearic acid, aluminium silicate, china clay, petroleum jelly, paraffin wax, a phenol condensation product, cyclohexylbenzthiazyl sulphonamide and sulphur.
