Abstract
1,138,818. Watches. BERNARD GOLAY, S.A. July 20, 1966 [Aug.13, 1965], No.32671/66. Heading G3T. A watch movement comprises a gear train 2-6 driven by a motor 1 and a regulating device formed by two vibrating systems 8, 9, the vibrations of which are maintained by the motor via the gear train. An intermediate wheel 5 meshes with an escape wheel 6, the teeth of which strike pallets 11, 12 mounted on an arm 10 of the secondary vibrator 9. The motion of the vibrator 9 is transmitted to the primary vibrator 8 by the pallet 12 striking a tine 8a of the vibrator 8. The vibrator 8, which as shown is a tuning fork but could comprise a single blade or an O or H-shaped resonator, thus synchronizes the frequency of oscillation of the two vibrators and thereby regulates the watch. In a modification, the secondary vibrator 9 comprises a blade and a single pallet. Instead of the mechanical coupling between the vibrators, spring or magnetic coupling could be used and the vibrator 9 could also be a tuning fork.
