Abstract

1,138,076. Axial-flow pumps. FLUXGERATE G.m.b.H. July 29, 1966 [July 30, 1965], No.34094/66. Heading F1C. In a pumping unit suitable for corrosive liquids, leakage flowing along shaft 1 through seals 22, 25 flows into a cylindrical chamber 16 and is centrifugally discharged therefrom through four channels 10 by a disc 17 of rubber, plastics or the like, thereby preventing the leakage from reaching a bearing 9 and a quick-release coupling 8. The disc 17 has an interference fit on shaft 1 to facilitate removal. The pump may be dismantled from the motor for cleaning by releasing a locking screw 23 and unscrewing a securing cap 14. Sleeves 4 and 5 can be unscrewed from supporting member 13. The pump may operate in any position, e. g. horizontally.
