Abstract

1,137,098. Hair curlers. NOVORNA (LONDON) Ltd. 7 Dec., 1967 [12 Sept., 1966], No. 40740/66. Heading A4V. In a hair roller comprising a helical spring element supporting and covered by an outer open mesh cylinder and containing an inner member having radial prongs projecting through the mesh, the spring element 15 has its coils joined by one or two axially extending flexible members 17 which prevent compression of the roller, yet allow it to be bent about its long axis. The spring, which may be of plastics material moulded integrally with the flexible members, has radial lugs 18 for engaging with the mesh cylinder. The inner member may be a cylindrical brush formed by a wire centre member carrying a plurality of radial nylon bristles, or may be moulded in one piece in plastics material.
