Abstract

1,136,788. Hair dyers. K. C. ROUTLEDGE. 25 Sept., 1967 [23 Sept., 1966; 2 Feb., 1967 (2)], Nos. 46731/66, 5005/67 and 5006/67. Heading A5R. [Also in Division H5] A hood which fits over the head to dry and set the hair is constructed of a double layer of flexible asbestos or fibre glass cloth filled with heat retaining material and incorporating a waterproof wire heating element. The hood is heated, disconnected from the supply, and then placed on the head. The hood is shaped as a mob cap, with an elasticated edge around its open end, and has a nylon fur lining which forms itself around hair curlers on the head and conducts heat to them. The heat retaining material is asbestos wool, glass fibre, metal foil or granules. A thermostat controls the wire element.
