Abstract
1,134,564. Explosive compositions. FRANCE, MINISTRE DES ARMEES. 1 Dec., 1965 [1 March, 1965], No. 51074/65. Heading C1D. An explosive composition which does not exude at a temperature below 100‹ C. comprises hexogen and/or octogen together with 2,4,6- trinitro - N - methylaniline and/or 2,4,6-trinitro - N - N - dimethylaniline. The composition may be made (a) by introducing dry hexogen or octogen, or a mixture thereof with the nitrated aniline, into the molten nitrated aniline; (b) by mixing hexogen or octogen with water and the nitrated aniline under pressure; or (c) by mixing hexogen or octogen with a solution of the nitrated aniline and eliminating the organic solvent, for example, ethyl acetate, by evaporation or steam distillation. Waxes, graphite, and metallic powders may be added to the explosive composition.
