1,133,855. Thermal barrier for electric cable. DOW CHEMICAL CO. 10 Nov., 1965 [19 Nov., 1964], No. 23599/68. Divided out of 1,132,717. Heading H1A. A cable comprises one or more insulated conductors 1 surrounded by a layer 2 of plastics material which is adhered to a layer 3 of foamed thermally insulating polymer around which is an outer polymer jacket 4. The foamed composition may be made from the preferred selection of polymers from the list given in the parent Specification viz. a copolymer of methyl methacrylate and methyl acrylate or a copolymer of methyl methacrylate and acrylonitrile, with a blowing agent in each case. Specification 1,044,680 is also referred to.
