Abstract

1,133,794. Extruding. LINDENMANN MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. 10 Aug., 1966 [14 Sept., 1965], No. 35812/66. Heading B3P. A metal-extrusion press has a two-arm die holder 16 rotatable about an axis 15 parallel with the extrusion axis X and carried by a transverse slide 5. The latter is movable by an hydraulic cylinder 10 and its inoperative position, Fig. 2 (not shown) is determined by a stop 11. Die holder 16 is mounted on a shaft 15 rotatable in bearings in the slide 5. When this is in its inoperative position, a rotatable arm 23 engages in a slot (24), Fig. 4 (not shown), in shaft 15. The arm 23 is rotated through rack-and-pinion mechanism 20, 21 by an hydraulic cylinder 18 pivoted at 19. During the sliding movement both the slide 5 and the die holder 16 are guided by upper and lower rails 7. Movement of the slide 5 is used to shear off the discard and an aperture 13 is used for the ejection of unextruded billets.
