Abstract

1,133,340. Elevated railways; aircraft. J. H. MEYER. 12 Sept., 1966, No. 40719/66. Headings B7L and B7W. [Also in Division B8] An aircraft fuselage 30 having an openable tail and a monorail is loaded with a suspended load carrying monorail capsule 10 which may be self propelled or may be contained in a monorail shell 40. The capsule 10 runs on a track 31<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 6, in the fuselage 30 or shell and is also supported by offset wheels 11, 12 on rails 32<SP>1</SP>, 33<SP>1</SP> to prevent transverse movement. The rails have asymmetrically arranged depression 130, 140, 135 into which the wheels drop when the capsule is correctly positioned in the aircraft. In position a member 15 fits over a track 36 and wedge shaped clamps 16 may secure the capsule in position.
