113,195. Ehrhardt, E. F., and Ehrhardt, H. W. April 30, 1917. Disazo dyes.-The disazo dye p-phenylenediamine-azo-salicylic acid-azo- #-naphthylamine is prepared in a gelatinous form suitable for dyeing by coupling diazotized p-phenylenediamine-azosalicylic acid with #-naphthylamine which has been purified by treatment with caustic soda solution, and grinding the product with water to a uniform gelatinous mass. The product dyes unmordanted cotton pink to red shades and wool red shades with chrome mordants.
