Abstract
1,130,618. Doffing and donning yarn supply cops. ELITEX-ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI, OBOROVE REDITELSTVI. 8 Sept., 1966 [8 Sept., 1965], No. 40164/66. Heading DID. The invention is concerned with a mechanism for doffing an exhausted cop from an automatic cross winding machine, said doffing taking place only in the absence of yarn from the supply cop. If yarn is present, a knotting operation is substituted for the doffing operation. When the supply of yarn to the take-up package ceases, a shaft 1, Fig. 1, performs one revolution. A two-armed lever 5, on a shaft 4, has an arm 6 biassed against a cam 2 on the shaft 1. If the supply cop is exhausted the twoarmed lever 5 is prevented from being rocked by the cam 2 by means of a plate 63 in the path of movement of the lever 5. If the supply cop is not exhausted, the yarn 59 therefrom extends between the fingers 60, 61 of a comb to displace the fingers thereof in a manner causing a plate 63 to be moved away from the lever 5. When a cop is exhausted the lever 5, as stated, is prevented from following the control cam and shaft 4 is thus not oscillated from a setting in which (a) a first cam 10 on shaft 4 forces a spring biassed pin 15, in a lever 12, to extend into a flange part 18 having a lever 16 engaging a cam 3 on shaft 1; and (b) a second cam 22 on shaft 4 forces a spring biassed pin 27, in a lever 24, to extend into a flange part 31 having a lever 28 engaging a cam 67 on shaft 1. The levers 12 and 24 are thus forced to oscillate about the shaft 4 when the shaft 1 turns the cams 3 and 67; the resulting movement of lever 12 is used to initiate the ejection of an exhausted bobbin; and the resulting movement of the lever 24 is used to initiate the transporting of a full cop to the wind-off position. When a cop is not exhausted the lever 5, as stated, is permitted to follow the cam 2 and rock the shaft 4. Rocking of the shaft 4 causes the cams 10, 22 to move to a setting in which they permit the spring biassed pins 15, 27 to retract from the flanges 19 and 31. When this happens the levers 12, 24 no longer respond to the cams 3 and 67 and cop ejection and replacement do not take place. Cop ejection. When the lever 12 is rocked, as above, a two-armed lever 44 Fig. 2 lowers the exhausted cop onto a chute 39 where it is doffed. Cop replacement. When the lever 24 is rocked, as above, it causes a ratchet mechanism 52 to turn a wing element 41 in a pot-shaped magazine 36 in a manner moving a full cop 38 to the chute 39 and hence to the wind-off position. The pot-shaped magazine 36, wing element 41 and chute 39 are the subject of the claims in Specification 1,130,619.
