Abstract

1,129,458. Electro-photographic copying apparatus. FORMFOTO MFG. CO. Nov. 11, 1965 [Nov. 12, 1964], No.47921/65. Heading G2H. In an electro-photographic copying machine, an original is conveyed by driven rollers 15, 20, 24 past scanning aperture 29 for episcopic projection, by means of tubular lamp 41 and reflector 42, mirror 43, and lens 52, on to exposure aperture 53 past which sheets of sensitized copy paper 59 are fed from magazine 60 in synchronism with the movement of the originals, before development in liquid developer trough 82 and heat fixing and drying on guide plate 101. Originals are delivered from passage 38, while copies are deposited on plate 109 for removal at 110. A blower cools lamp 41 and extracts the hot air through port 102 for discharge through louvres 107 in plate 101 to provide a hot air cushion for descending damp copies. Liquid developer 84 is constantly circulated from supply tank 85 by pump 87 and motor 90. Copy sheets 59, which may be of zinc oxide coated paper, are fed by roller 62 to corona discharge wires 75 for sensitizing. Manually operated shutter 132 controls the intensity of light reflected by mirror 43. Panels 49, 54 define a light tight tunnel from mirror 43 to exposure aperture 53.
