Abstract
1,127,932. Coated moulded articles. ASAHI DOW Ltd. 27 May, 1966, No. 23825/66. Heading B2K. [Also in Division C3] The surfaces of articles moulded from styrene polymers are coated, e.g. by spraying or immersion, with a paint obtained by adding a solution of 1 to 15 parts (by wt.) of butyl phosphate in an organic solvent to a mixture of solutions in organic solvents of (A) 100 parts etherified methylol melamine, (B) 0.5 to 50 parts styrenated alkyd resin and (C) 0 to 40 parts non-drying oil modified alkyd resin, the total of (B) and (C) being at least 10 parts. The coating may be hardened by heating at 70 to 80C for 90 to 120 minutes in an air or infrared oven.
