[Also in Division H3] A feedback amplifier is provided with an additional resistance-capacitance feedback path which includes a non-linear circuit element, in order to prevent the time-constant becoming excessively long for signals of low amplitude. The arrangement may be applied to a linear amplifier (see Division H3); as applied to a logarithmic amplifier comprising amplifier A with negative feedback via potentiometer r 2 , r 3 and non-linear element Y, the element Y is shunted by a capacitor C and the potentiometer arm r 3 by a further element Z which is non- linear, comprising, e.g. a semi-conductor diode or a number in series.
