Abstract
1,126,080. Surface aerators. AMES CROSTA MILLS & CO. Ltd. and J. F. BOLTON. 25 Aug., 1967 [27 Aug., 1966], No. 38527/66. Heading B1C. A surface aerator of the type with a rotating cone 24 is mounted on columns 14 which at least above the liquid surface 13 are flat or of hydrofoil section and are disposed tangentially to a circle centred on the axis of the cone to lie in the direction of flow of liquid discharging from the cone. The cone and its motor 21 and transmission 20 are supported on a frame 15 resting on the columns 14 which may extend to the floor 11 of the tank (Fig. 3, not shown) or may be supported on tubular columns 10 (as shown) or on arms radiating from the uptake tube 27 (Fig. 5, not shown), or on a further tube (27a, Fig. 6, not shown).
