Abstract

1,122,669. Seam rippers. NEEDLE INDUSTRIES Ltd. 22 Dec., 1966 [24 Dec., 1965], No. 54848/65. Heading B4B. A tool for ripping seams comprises a shank 11 including a stem portion 16 and a prong portion 17 terminating in a point 18, a spur portion 19 extending obliquely in the rearward direction and being connected to the junction between the portions 16, 17 by a web portion 20 of reduced thickness in comparision with the portions 16, 17, 19, the web portion 20 being provided with a sharp ripping edge 21 and the prong portion 17 being provided with a sharp cutting edge 22. The tool comprises a handle 10 having a slot 9 in which the shank 11 is pivotable from its operative position in which it abuts a stop face 13 to an inoperative position in which it abuts a stop face 14.
