Abstract

1,121,985. Endless band moving over illuminated screen. L. S. ROGOFF. 15 Dec., 1966 [17 Dec., 1965], No. 56324/66. Heading G5C. An endless band of translucent foldable material 4 bearing separate legends is moved in step-by-step manner over an illuminated screen 2 such that the band is located flat across the front of the screen 2 and in a plurality of free folds 5 in the enclosure behind the screen. The means for moving the band is co-ordinated with the reproduction of a message through sound producing apparatus, e.g. by a photoelectric cell assembly or a micro-switch assembly and a time switching mechanism. A pair of pinch rollers 10, 11 one of which is motor driven engage the band at one side of the screen and a free-running roller 12 at the opposite side facilitates the passage of the band across the screen. Two pairs of small rollers 7 shielded by plates 8 and mounted at the rear of the enclosure engage the band to ensure a limited predetermined resistance to movement of the band. The enclosure is in two parts hinged together. Fluorescent tubes edge illuminate the screen.
