Abstract
As a hardening agent for epoxy resins, use is made of a reaction product of phthalic anhydride and diethylene triamine (see Division C2). Types of epoxy resins which may be treated are specified, and examples and experimental results are given. A moulding powder is also described in which separate components (containing fillers &c.) (1) containing the epoxy resin and (2) containing the curing agent are first separately ground and finally micropulverized together.ALSO:A product of unstated composition is prepared by reacting phthalic anhydride with at least an equimolecular proportion of diethylene triamine at 50-160 DEG C. An example is given. The product is useful as a hardening agent for epoxy resins (see Division C3).
