Abstract
1,120,065. Electronic musical instruments. JOH. MUSTAD A.B. 6 Aug., 1965 [17 Aug., 1964], No. 33790/65. Heading G5J. The arrangement shown produces automatically a sequence of notes to form a bass accompaniment. The player, by rocking his foot between toe and heel rests 1, 2 to close both of the associated switches and the circuit of the solenoid 5 at each movement, or between rests 3, 4 to close the switch 4<SP>1</SP> and the solenoid circuit at alternate movements. The solenoid steps a switch S to produce different frequencies in succession from the oscillator I to form a major triad the basic oscillator frequency being modified by capacitors C4, C5 in switch positions K2, K3, the basic note of the triad being determined by depressing a key of the unit IIA to select one of a number of resistances R1- R11. The relative pitches of the three notes may be modified, e.g. to a minor triad, by other capacitors selected by keys 14, 15, 16. The player may make his own selection of the notes to be played by depressing keys 5 of a unit IIB to select resistances from the groups R12-R15, R16-R19, R21-R23 respectively. The output from the oscillator is fed to a circuit V, which produces a pizzicato effect, and thence to a main amplifier, not shown.
