A lining for walls, ceilings and tunnels comprises plates 11 having sockets 17 at or adjacent one edge 19 and a nose 23 at the other edge adapted to engage the socket of an adjacent similar plate, and gaskets 12. The plates each comprise an aluminium sheet having sides covered by foils of polyvinylchloride, and the gaskets are of neoplene or polyvinylchloride.
