Abstract

1,117,364. Work-transfer means. MIKROMAT DRESDEN VEB. 2 Sept., 1965, No. 37547/65. Heading B3B. A feed and discharge device for cylindrical workpieces comprises an intermittently movable drum having two grooved wheels 4, 5, a shield 8 around two-thirds of the drum, with a lateral lower opening and ledge 9, and a revolving gripper 13 for receiving a piece from the ledge and delivering it to the machine tool centres. The grooves in the wheel 5 have the shape illustrated in Fig. 4 to receive the flutes of a twist drill and the wheel 4 has square grooves to receive its shank. The drills are loaded manually. The drill on the ledge 9 is picked up by grippers 14 and magnets on the member 13. As the member 13 carries a workpiece to the machine centres, a cam 16 raises a lever 17 to move an ejection member 18.
