Abstract
1,115,032. Agitating slurry; comminuting apparatus; wet grinding. J. B. CHITTENDEN. 15 Dec., 1964 [17 Sept., 1963; 16 Dec., 1963], Nos. 36545/63 and 49562/63. Headings B1C and B2A. An organic (manure) slurry in a tank is mixed with water, agitated, drawn through a disintegrator and pumped to land to be manured. As described the agitator 2, (see Fig. 4, not shown) is rotated by a vertical spindle, and the disintegrator 6 is situated in the inlet to the suction pipe 9 of a discharge pump and comprises an apertured plate 12 and a rotor 17 to which are bolted blades 18. The blades may be inclined to draw the slurry into the disintegrator.
