Abstract
Articles or parts exposed in use to high-purity water at elevated temperature and pressure are made from an alloy consisting of:- <TABS:1114996/C6-C7/1> the balance, apart from impurities and residual deoxidants, being nickel. The chromium content must be at least 20% if Mo or Ta is present or if Fe is present in amounts over 0.5%. The alloys may be hot or cold worked, annealed at 815-1150 DEG C. and rapidly cooled (i.e. in air or water).
