Abstract

1,114,200. Joint-making packing. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. 23 Nov., 1966 [25 Nov., 1965], No. 52389/66. Heading F2B. In a cylinder head or other gasket comprising a metal sheet 1 having apertures 2, 3 and 4 therein, each aperture is reinforced around its edge by an annular corrugation 5 located between two metal rings 6 and 7 engaged by a U-section edging ring 8. The sheet 1 and rings 6 and 7 are made of sheet steel and the ring 8 is preferably of copper or other soft metal but may be of hard material coated with a softer material.
