A seed planter comprises a centrifugal impeller 84 for transferring seeds from a hopper 12 to a rotary suction drum 32 having a plurality of holes 58 arranged to pick up seeds by suction and deliver them to a seed drill. The seeds are picked up when each aperture is at its upper position and when the aperture reaches its lowest position the seed is ejected by compressed air from a supply 48.
