Abstract

1,112,810. Screws; nuts. BAUER & SCHAURTE. 27 June, 1966 [28 July, 1965]. No. 28800/66. Heading F2H. A countersunk screw for fixing ship plates, comprises a head having two sealing edges 5 and 6. The upper edge 6 deforms elastically, when the screw is tightened, as shown on the right of the Figure, and the lower edge 5 bites into the wall 16 of the screw-hole. A nut 9 used with the screw has a conical sealing face 10, and a cap 12 to seal the outer end of the screw.
