Abstract

1,112,219. Woodworking. STANLEY WORKS. 8 March, 1967 [25 April, 1966], No. 10819/67. Heading B5L. A power tool, such as a router, comprises a motor housing 10 having an external cylindrical portion 18 received in the cylindrical bore of an upright column 14 of a base 13, the column having an upper generally helical edge 62 engaged by an abutment 66 on the motor housing for axially adjusting the motor housing in co-operation with angular adjustment thereof, and means 17 for locking the motor housing against the base. The base is formed with a central aperture for a tool held in a chuck 24 of the motor, and cut-outs 30 are provided for observing the tool. Lugs 32, 34 on the base have apertures for receiving a guide. The helical rim is formed with graduations 70, 72 which cooperate with an index mark on the abutment for determining the axial position of the motor housing and tool relative to the base. The means 17 consists of a knob for frictionally holding the motor housing in its adjusted position.
