Abstract
1,111,467. Switching circuits; radio signalling. AUTOPHON A.G. 29 April, 1966 [30 April, 1965], No. 18877/66. Headings H3U and H4L. A contact-less circuit for alternatively connecting an aerial A1, A2 to transmitter terminals SA1, SA2 or receiver terminals EE1, EE2, consequent upon the operation of a switch K connecting a D.C. source to the transmitter supply circuits S or to the receiver supply circuits E comprises for the transmitter, a T-seotion C1, C2, L1, the latter element being shunted by a diode D1. The capacitor C3 has a high capacity so that effectively it only serves as a block for D.C. The values of the elements C1, C2, L1 are chosen so that the shunting effect of the relatively low impedances presented across the terminals SA1, SA2 and A1, A2 produces a parallel resonant circuit resonant at the transmitter frequency. Similarly, for the receiver in which the impedance across the terminals EE1, EE2 is low, a T-section C4, C5, L2 is provided resonant at the receiver frequency, and a diode D2 shunts the element L2. When the switch K is in the position shown to supply the receiver, the D.C. flows through E, L1 and D1 to the -ve terminal. Thus D1 is rendered conductive and shortcircuits L1, and C2 presents a high impedance shunt across A1, A2. However, D2 remains blocked and energy can flow from A1, A2 via the resonant T-section to the receiver EE1, EE2. Similarly, when switch K is moved to the transmitter position, D2 becomes conductive, C4 acts as a high impedance shunt, and energy can flow from A1, A2 via the resonant T- section to SA1, SA2.
