Abstract

1,111,272. Hot forming foamed plastics. MINISTER OF TECHNOLOGY. 26 July, 1965 [9 July, 1964], No. 28341/64. Heading B5A. In a method of hot forming rigid foamed plastics material, e.g. sheet polystyrene or polyvinyl carbazole, the material is coated with a suitable synthetic resin, e.g. an epoxy or polyester resin respectively, which is cured, the coated foamed sheet then being hot formed. The coating resin may contain a filler, e.g. finely divided silica. A facing layer or skin may be applied to the hot formed article using a resin as an adhesive.
