A textile treatment plant comprises a plurality of tanks 1 adapted to receive and support batches of textile material and mounted at equal angular spacings around a rotatable carrier 5 for step-by-step movement over a corresponding number of angularly spaced stations disposed below the tanks, at least some of the stations having treatment units with parts which sealably connect with parts on the tanks and there being means for raising and lowering the carrier together with the tanks. Preferably at least one station is devoid of a processing unit and is used for loading and unloading the tanks. Each tank has a plug part of a releasable connector 4 of the plug and socket type, each treatment unit having the socket part. Suitable raising and lowering means are electrically or hydraulically powered motor or ram means.
