Abstract

110,978. Smith, J. Dec. 8, 1916. Lacing-fastenings.-The closing edges of boots, shoes, corsets, gloves, leggings, &c. are provided with single tubes or two or more closely spaced tubes b<1>, b<2> of flexible material, which are secured by stitches d or by cement or other means. A lace is threaded through the tubes and, when more than one tube is employed on each edge, the lace is crossed from side to side in the space f between the tubes. The bottom pair of tubes b<1>, b<2> may be replaced by a single U-shaped tube.
