Abstract

1,109,605. Mineral mining machines. MAVOR & COULSON Ltd. 28 July, 1965 [1 Aug., 1964], No. 30403/64. Heading E1F. A mineral-cutting machine 2 is slidably mounted on the frame of a longwall conveyor 1 for movement therealong by haulage gear 7 by slides 8, 9 on the machine bearing respectively on slideways 10, 11 on the conveyor frame. The slide 8 and slideway 10 are approximately midway laterally of the machine between the front and rear runs of conveyor chains 14, 15, and the slide 9 and slideway 11 are spaced to the rear thereof. The slides lie between the slideways and have recesses in which the slideways engage, the mating faces of the side walls of the recesses and slides being divergent downwardly to prevent the machine rising relative to the conveyor.
