Abstract

Thermoplastic resins are plasticized with the dimethylamide of a dimer or trimer of a C18- 22 straight chain aliphatic carboxylic acid having at least one double bond. Resins specified are P.V.C., acrylic, cured epoxy and urethane resins. Suitable acids are eleostearic, licanic, linoleic linolenic, oleic, ricinoleic, arachidonic, chipanadonic and fatty acids from tall, castor, corn, cottonseed, linseed, olive, peanut, rapeseed, safflower, sesame and soybean oils.
