[Also in Divisions F1 and F2] A plastics plunger member 15, to be fitted on to the piston rod 14 of an hypodermic syringe, is formed with a bore 21 in which is a groove 22 adapted to retain the end 17 of the piston rod 14, and is formed in its outer surface with a circumferential groove 24. to increase the flexibility of the member. The plastics material of the plunger member is exemplified and the piston rod 14 and syringe barrel 11 are also of a plastics material, the syringe barrel being transparent. A needle may be fitted to the nozzle 13.
