Apparatus for collating webs to form continuous stationery has driven endless belts 13, 14 with pins 21 spaced lengthwise of the belts to engage heading perforations in the webs situated in pairs near the top or bottom edge of each form length and is also provided with pin feed devices, i.e. pin wheels such as 10 or 11 for collating webs having perforations along one or both edges. In one form, the belts 13, 14 pass around axially adjustable flanged wheels 8, 9 freely rotatable on a shaft 5, and are driven by the pin'wheels 10, 11, the pins 12 of which engage perforations 20 in the belts. The wheels 10, 11 are axially adjustable on but rotate with a motor-driven shaft 6. For dealing with webs with heading perforations, the wheels 8 . . . 11 are adjusted so that the pins 21 register with the heading perforations. If edge perforated webs are to be collated, the belts 13, 14 are removed. If one edge only is perforated, one of the pin wheels is moved axially clear of the webs. Alternatively, one belt may be removed, and the other belt with its wheels, e.g. 8, 10, moved axially to an inoperative position. In another form, the belts may be driven by cogged wheels engaging internal teeth on the belts and a separate pin wheel provided for operating on edge perforated webs. The pins on the wheels 10, 11 may be retracted in known manner as they pass out of engagement with the webs.
