Abstract
1,105,932. Roller conveyers. AJEM LABORATORIES Inc. 13 April, 1965 [20 April, 1964], No. 15835/65. Heading B8A. An article distributing apparatus receives articles 10 on rollers 18 in an article-receiving section 14 where they are held by a brake 16, pneumatically operated by an actuating cylinder 42, for transfer to one or other outlet rollers 38, 40 through a reciprocating door member 22 operated by an air-operated spring-returned cylinder 44. In the position shown member 22 guides articles 10 over rollers 26 to the outlet rollers 40, correct orientation being maintained by guide rails 20. In the other position (not shown) of member 22 guide rails 20a and 20b form a continuation of the guide rails 20 of the receiving section 14 and guide articles 10 over rollers 24 to the outlet rollers 38. The brake 16 is so arranged that as it releases an article 10 it gives the article a push, Fig. 3 (not shown): the position of the brake 16 is determined by downstream sensing devices (not shown).
