Abstract
1,105,085. Control systems for X-ray apparatus. SIEMENS - REINIGER - WERKE A.G. 27 May, 1965 [29 May, 1964], No. 25025/65. Heading H2H. X-ray diagnostic apparatus which can be operated either with a single X-ray tube 17 or with concurrent or alternate operation of two X-ray tubes 15, 16 comprises two high voltage generators 1, 2 in the form of transformers arranged in a single oil-filled housing, the transformers being identical and each of the secondary windings being in two parts 3, 3<SP>1</SP> and 4, 4<SP>1</SP> each part being connected to a full wave rectifier group serially interconnected in pairs 5, 51 and 6, 6<SP>1</SP>, the apparatus comprising a number of relays A ... F and a manually operable selector 13, the selector 13 energizing the relays selectively so that with the selector 13 in: Position I-tubes 15, 16 are separately connected to generators 1, 2 with a common voltage control by autotransformer 9 giving concurrent tube operation. Position II-tubes 15, 16 are separately connected to generators 1,2 with separate voltage control by autotransformers 9 and 11 giving concurrent tube operation. Position III-tube 17 is connected to generators 1, 2 in parallel with voltage control by autotransformer 9. Position IV-tube 17 is connected to generators 1, 2 in series with voltage control by autotransformer 9. Position V-tubes 15, 16 connected as in position 2 but relay A is energized and deenergized after each exposure to give alternate operation of the tubes. The arrangement being such that in positions I-III and V the connections between the rectifier pairs 5, 5<SP>1</SP>; 6, 6<SP>1</SP> are earthed and in position IV the connection between the rectifier pairs 5, 6 is earthed. A time switch 12 is included in the system to control the exposure periods. The system also includes known overload protection devices.
