Abstract

1,103,539. Ratchet clutches. STIEBER ROLLKUPPLUNG KOMM.-GES. 18 Oct., 1966 [19 Oct., 1965], No. 46524/66. Heading F2C. A one-way jamming roller clutch has its rollers 3 provided with stub shafts 11 mounted in slots in a cage formed by members 4, 5 meeting along a plane 9 offset axially from the centre of the clutch. Spring-pressed pins 14 urging the rollers toward their jamming positions are housed in cavities 12 formed in the cage member 4, which cavities are open towards the plane 9. The members 4, 5 may be fixed together, or be secured to an inner hub 1 formed with clutch surfaces 2.
