Abstract

1,101,648. Circuit assemblies; resonant cavities. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVER. WERTUNG G.m.b.H. 19 Feb., 1965 [11 March, 1964], No. 7164/65. Headings H1R and H1W. [Also in Division H3] A resonant circuit construction comprises inner and outer conductors, one end of the former being connected to a variable capacitor, the junction point being connected (a) to an input terminal via a coiled inductor whose axis is parallel to the inner conductor and (b) to a transistor via a second coiled inductor whose axis is perpendicular to the inner conductor. Fig. 2 shows such a construction in the input circuit of a U.H.F. receiver, the aerial feeder 4 being joined via the parallel inductor 3 to one end of a resonant line 1, the output being taken through the perpendicular inductor 6 to the transistor 7. To reduce stray capacitance the inductor 3 is located opposite the centre of the line 1. The line conductor 1 may be formed as a printed circuit. A blocking capacitor 5 in the form of a disc is effectively in circuit between the inductor 6 and the line. The output from transistor 7 is applied to a band-pass filter in chambers 15, 16 and thence to a selfoscillating mixer transistor 22. Coupling is via a loop 21 which has single-turn spiral windings at its comers.
