Abstract
1,101,261. Endless conveyers. J. M. FERGUSON. 16 Nov., 1964 [14 Aug., 1963], No. 32189/63. Heading B8A. An endless conveyer assembly for clearing or re-laying sludge beds or the like comprises a main conveyer boom 1 which supports an auxiliary conveyer boom 2. The auxiliary boom has pairs of wheels 31, 32 which run along rails 6 of the main boom but in the transport position shown, the auxiliary boom is secured to the main boom by screw means 33, 34. To arrange the conveyer assembly in the working position, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), the auxiliary boom is allowed to move to its extended position under control of a winch and rope 23, 24. The auxiliary boom may then slew, with respect to the main boom, on wheels 32 and about an axis 35. Conveyer belts 3, 4 are independently driven and have skirt boards 18, 36. Sludge is loaded manually on to the belts 3 or 4.
